WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Thanksgiving is now over and that means people are rolling out the Christmas fun, including over at the battleship
Families that came to the U.S.S. North Carolina Friday were able to get into the Christmas spirit by enjoying some battleship fun with a holiday twist.
They were able to track Santa’s journey on radar, take photo ops in Christmas hula skirts and even the chance to visit with the big man himself.
It was all part of getting people out to the battleship and having some fun along the way.
“To sit there and see a whole line of people that just want to be able to talk to the chief elf on a radio,” Volunteer at the Battleship, Chris Harrison, said. “To be able to see Santa Claus up on the signal bridge raising flags and see how radar could’ve actually tracked Santa Claus is a lot fun.”
All the events and festivities taking place on the ship were based off things that the men would actually do while on board.
