WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — When the lights went down in Wrightsville Beach, the Christmas lights came out.
People from all over came to the island to see the 33rd Annual Flotilla Boat Parade.
The waterway glowed with all sorts of colors as the boats made their way through.
The parade has become a staple of the Flotilla event and brought thousands to the island to get a chance to see them.
“it’s just local community at its finest, especially the coastal local community,” Cadence Realty owner Luke Waddell said. “They come in, seeing boats lit up and see fireworks. There are kids and adults and everybody is having a blast. It’s just really something that brings everybody together.”
People in attendance say they love the parade and that it’s a great way to kick off the holiday season.
